Abstract

The present work aims to reconstruct Plato's reception in the Romantic Era, particularly in the current known as Frühromantik or Jena Circle. In the first part we review an overview of how Plato's work becomes a concern in the German language from different sources. Secondly, we will focus on the relevance of Platonism for Early German Romantic ideas. And, finally, we analyze the work of Friedrich Schlegel and his reception of the ideas of Platonism.
